New Regulations on E-Commerce Promotion

Circular 40/2020 / TT-BCT issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to amend and supplement a number of articles of Circular No. 11/2019, to guide the implementation of foreign trade promotion activities under the National Trade Promotion Program.

The “organization and participation in trade promotion activities in the network environment” is amended and supplemented as follows:

1. Support building an area for displaying and introducing exported goods on e-commerce exchange

The e-commerce exchange selected for the booth must be in the top 50 world e-commerce exchange according to the rating of the evaluation organization published on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The implementation contents include: Consulting and support to open an account on the e-commerce exchange; Open an account, maintain membership; propagating, promoting, inviting units to participate and transactions; developing face of business by photos and videos, digitizing exhibits of participating units, etc,.

Supporting content: Support up to 100% of funding for the following contents: Maintain basic membership for a participant's account for up to 12 months; maintain special membership for the host unit for up to 12 months to exploit customer information provided to the participant; Design of common booths of participating units.

2. Participating in the booth of international trade fairs and exhibitions in the online environment

The contents of implementation include: Propagating, promoting, and introducing information about Vietnam's booth; inviting units to participate, transactions; rent an online booth, etc.
 
Supporting content: Support up to 100% of funding for the following contents: Propagating, promoting and organizing information about Vietnamese booths; inviting units to participate and transact; Rent an online booth; Overall and detailed design for the online booth, etc.

3. Organizing fairs and exhibitions on the network environment

Scale: At least 100 participants for multi-industry fairs and exhibitions; 50 participants for specialized fairs and exhibitions.

The budget supports up to 100% of the funding for the following contents: Propagating, promoting and introducing information about fairs and exhibitions; inviting units to participate, transactions; Rent an online platform to organize fairs and exhibitions; Overall design and details of fairs and exhibitions, etc,.

 

The Circular takes effect from January 15, 2021
